Andy Collyer
Awell travelled business professional, Andy started his first business at the age of 17, in the retail sector.
He went on to spend 15 years in the financial services industry, running a European network employing over 200 staff. After negotiating a £104 million MBI with Warrior Group Limited, Andy took a senior Management role with Close Brothers Merchant Bank in their finance division, developing what became Close Military Financial Services. In 2001, his marketing team won a National Marketing Award for its sales distribution model.
He went on to establish a business advisory company specialising in SME’s and not for profit organisations’ before arriving in New Zealand with his family in 2005.
Since then Andy has worked with over 250 businesses in New Zealand and Australia. He is a mentor with Business Mentors New Zealand and has worked with 4 companies on the Canterbury Development Hi Tech Launch Programme and provided market research support to the past two winners of the University of Canterbury Entre Competition Winners.
He has provided workshops around New Zealand focusing on time management and business systems.
Andy is an Associate Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management. He is a regular contributor to the Business Section of the New Zealand Herald and the Marketing Section of Unlimited Magazine.
He has several other business interests specialising in digital media, commercialisation and distribution and software development.
His first business book ‘The Battlefield Guide for Consultants; is due for publication in September 2011.
